Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quads, you have failed me! Why oh whyyyy?

Standard

Hello girls!

It’s been a while since Ive posted anything up. The truth is, I’ve been extremely busy with work and with Raya coming up. Cleaning up the house and doing last minute shopping is my number 1 priority right now. Haha

But then again, what I’ll be talking about tonight are two of the things that I purchased for Raya. And before I got them, I was totally going crazy for them. First of all, they have nice packagings and number 2, the colors in the quad looked nice BEFORE you actually try them on, they’re crazily NOT pigmented!! Ahhhh. It was a waste of my money. I got two quads from this line.

L to R: BLUSHING RAISINS & SMOKEY EYES

Not bad eh? Looks lovely in their pans! But don’t be fooled girls!

BLUSHING RAISINS

From top L to bottom R: BRULE, ROSE NUDE, RAISIN, PLUM

Just look at this! Are they not beautiful? I could imagine this being my staple color for work everyday, but Avon, you’ve dissapointed me.

Let’s see the swatches,

From L to R: BRULE, ROSE NUDE, RAISIN, PLUM

This is the result of multiple swatches on the same color. Crazy! They are not pigmented at all. The texture is super chalky and powdery!

SMOKEY EYES QUAD

From top left to bottom right: WHITE PEARL, PRIVATELY PINK, MOONLIGHT, STEEL

Now this I imagined to be my everyday natural smokey look, with the baby pink and grey. It would be wonderful if they were atleast more pigmented than how the are right now.

From L to R: WHITE PEARL, PRIVATELY PINK, MOONLIGHT, STEEL

Tell me that I’m wrong for being very dissapointed with both of these palettes? They look soooooo good in the pans but soooooo bad when worn on or even swatching them is hopeless. So yes. A big F to this!

Not worth your money. DO NOT GET THIS LADIES! You ought to buy Maybelline’s eyeshadows for a cheaper price, better quality.

Until then my lovelies. I hope this was helpful. Will talk to you tomorrow! 🙂

Maybelline’s Hyper Sharp Liner – THE BEST!

Standard

Hi girls!

Sorry haven’t been posting anything here, I’ve been busy for these past few days. But anyways, tonight I will be talking about my HG liquid eye liner and it’s the Maybelline’s Hyper Sharp Liner! I love love love this eyeliner so much that I had to get a couple more just incase Maybelline decides to discontinue this. Haha!

I went to a few different stores searching for this eyeliner and it’s sold out everywhere! Finally, when I went to Guardian, Kiulap, they had about 5 liners left, I just had to get  two more of these!

I used to not like liquid eyeliners. Ive tried drugstores brand (including other Maybelline’s liquid liners) to The Body Shop to Face Shop to MAC and none of their  liquid liners were good, at least for me. They just weren’t black enough and if so, they smudge like crazy though they say it’s smudge proof. Somehow it’s just hard to put liquid liner on my lids. I’ve got monolid on my right eye and a normal lid on the left, so.. yeah. Weird! I knoww!

But Maybelline’s Hyper Sharp Liner is the best! Its smudge proof, water proof, its very very black and i love it!

The applicator is more of a felt tip marker and it claims to be 0.05mm in size. I don’t care for the size and whatnot, what’s most important is how easy the application is and the staying power is amazing!

Now for the swatch..

So, if you see this eyeliner around, GRAB IT! DO NOT THINK TWICE, JUST BUY IT! I actually bought this liner for the sake of getting something that day (yes i do have those moments when I just feel the NEED to buy something), and i do not regret buying this at all! Hope this was helpful to you guys! Thank you 🙂

Holika Holika – Petit BB Cream

Standard

Heya girls!

Did you enjoy my last post? I really hope you did! Now as you all know that Holika Holika had just recently opened a few branches in Brunei. Holika Holika is from Korea I think. Tried checking their website and all was written in Korean so obviously, I don’t understand.

Went to Holika Holika a couple of times, and I can say that I’ve been liking their products. They’re different, that’s what makes them cool. But what I’ll be talking now is about their Petit (Yes! I am aware with the absence of the letter ‘E’) BB Cream. I have been wearing BB creams lately. They have a light coverage which is what I need for an everyday look. I really want to a find a product which gives a medium coverage, but I’m not looking for another foundation. Maybe a tinted moisturizer? If you have any thoughts, please comment down below. Now on with the BB Cream..

Holika Holika Petit BB Cream – Shimmering

For the Petit BB Cream, they have different kinds for different skin types. As for my normal/combination skin type, the girl suggested the “shimmering” one  for my skin. And I was, “oh no! I don’t want any chunks of shimmers on my face.” And she swatched it on my hand and..

Tadaaaaa! No shimmers at all. They call it “shimmering” cause it does give you that healthy glow. It’s just weird. Why can’t they just name it “Glowy” instead?

The Good Side:

  • It has SPF45PA+++
  • It gives you that glow that brightens up your dull skin
  • Gives you a good coverage if you’re searching for an every day “foundation”
  • Love that it has a “squeezer” to get the product out
  • Good reasonable price – BND 12.90 (better if you have their privilege card, you” get 10% off)
  • Sweet mild scent. I love!

The Not-So-Good Side:

  • If you have acne scars, you would actually need to put on concealer because with the BB cream alone, it would not be covered. I think I have that problem with most BB creams so that’s really not a big problem for me.

Yeah! So overall, a good product! Visit Holika Holika if you have the chance and check these out! They’ve got BB creams for oily skin, dry skin, dull skin, you name it! Until then, I hope this was helpful. Talk to you all soon!

Elianto Pearl Shine Shadows

Standard

Hi my lovelies!

Are you all familiar with Elianto? Honestly, I’ve never heard of Elianto until I saw their colorful booth in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. I saw they had a whole wide range of colors for lipsticks, eye shadows, eyeliners, blushes and what not. Saw their price and I was like, no way these things are good cause they’re TOO cheap! So I swatched a few of their shadows and was amazed with the pigmentation! And I hurried to the counter to get myself one of the shopping basket and picked a whole lot of colors.

Elianto has so many different kinds of eye shadows. I believe that the one I’ll be talking about is from their studio line. I got a few from their “Vibrant Shadow”, “Pearl Shine Shadow” and another kind that was discontinued (and I cant search it off from the internet cause it’s not in the website too!) which I forgot what it was, so sorry about that.

Let’s get on with the post.

This is how the palette looks like. This holds 10 pans of eye shadows. This is sold separately. If I’m not mistaken, it was around RM16 = ± BND 8. That’s quite reasonable right?

Now the downside of this palette is that the dividers (is that what you call it?), is not made of plastic. It’s made of a spongy type material unlike the MAC palettes or Coastal Scents palette. But hey, it’s $8 so we really can’t complain that much.

Now these colors I picked out. They’ve got over 20 shades from the Pearl Shine Shadows. They were RM8 (BND 4) each.

Swatches:

PALE YELLOW & LIGHT SALMON

PALE YELLOW & LIGHT SALMON

COPPER BROWN & LAVENDER BLUE

SHELL PINK & ROSY PINK

SHELL PINK & ROSY PINK (Nice colors for blush too!)

SPRING TURQUOISE & AQUAMARINE

NILE GREEN & BABY PINK

NILE GREEN & BABY PINK

ELIANTO claims that their Pearl Shine Shadow:

” A pan of silky soft-textured powder that glides easily on eyes. Enriched with vitamin E which is anti-free radicals, this shimmering eye shadow keeps your eyes nourished.”

I totally agree! The shadows are silky and it does glide smoothly on the lids. It stays on better with a base/primer underneath though. And I can say that the shadows blend easily.

Great eye shadows for a great price! You cannot pass this up. So if you do get a chance to go to Elianto, check out their eye shadows!

That is all, as always, hope this was helpful. Now stay tuned for the upcoming post 🙂

My Make Up Collection & Storage! – PART 2

Standard

Hello!

This is the continuation for my make up collection post. I had to split it into two or else it would be a very loooooooong post. Now, let us move on.

Next to my vainity table (as you can see in my first picture in part 1), I have two shelves thats drilled to the wall. The one right next to the vainity is where I put all of my lip products and also my eye shadow palettes.

I store my lipsticks in these acrylic lipstick holders that I got for an affordable price. They had different sizes and different number of lipstick slots. In the pictures below, I will be showing you how they vary from each other.

This holds 24 lipsticks and it comes with a clear container that you can stack on eachother. I put all my lipbalms, lipglosses that are too short to be seen in my lipgloss holder, Anna Sui’s ring rouge in the container.

This is actually a candle holder. So when I was done with the candle, I cleaned the glass and used it to store all of my MAC’s lipglasses and plushglasses. They fit perfectly and it’s really nice that you can see through it to see the colors.

I dont know how to describe this buti it’s sorta like a moon shape. This holds 15 lipsticks.

As you can see, behind there’s a few slots where you can put extra lipsticks or skinny lipsticks that dont fit in the slot. Ive got my Anna Sui’s lip palette, my Holika Holika rose mirror, chapsticks and sample sized lipsticks.

Now this little thing holds 12 lipsticks. Ive got two of these just cause I wasnt sure if i needed anymore at that time, but in the end, i did need another one.

This is where I store my lipglosses. This container is actually a tv remote control holder/pen holder. I also stick the pink w brown polka ribbon around the container just so it does not look dull.

These are the palettes I have. I just place them upright next to the wall and the lipgloss container.

My vainity table has a slide mirror, and behind there are shelves where I can store my body mists, moisturizers and lotions and things like that so I really think thats cool.

In the cabinet, I just put all my make up bags and brush rolls inside. And at the top shelf, I have one of those acrylic containers but in a bigger size so that I can put all my tissue roll, nail polish remover, cuticle removers, extra brush cleanser and everything.

White container has my sample size of everything from different companies. The Coca Cola glass was a freebie from Mcds and I put my hair brushes inside. Now that thing on the right is a brochure holder that I got from a stationery store. It holds my face masks, and hair stuff perfectly.

So, that is it ladies! I hope this was helpful. I’m sorry I cant describe this better just cause, I feel, that most of these things shown are all straight forward. But if you have questions, feel free to comment down below. Thank you for reading! Talk to you all again soon!

My Make Up Collection & Storage! – PART 1

Standard

Hello dear readers!

Finallyyy!! I’ll be doing my make up collection post plus I’ll be giving you some make up storage tips. So lets just get on with it.

Just a disclaimer, I am not trying to brag about how much make up I have, I don’t think I have that many compared to the youtube gurus and bloggers I’ve seen, I’m simply doing this post just cause I love sharing new ideas on how I store my make up. And I know some readers that have reached out to me asked for a post like this, so to you girlies, who’ve asked, this is especially for you 🙂

The overview of my make up station

I store my brushes in clear glass vases. The beads inside the vases at the back are flower beads.

In this plastic container (where I used to store my earrings) I could fit my foundations, BB creams, face primers, brush cleansers and towel in. I just wrapped a pink ribbon with brown polka dots around the clear container to make it more interesting. (My cousin got me a pair of PJs when she got back from UK and it came with the ribbon so I kept it and reused it)

Top view

I will start with my pink counter. Here is where I mainly keep my make up. I bought this pink rack and the white clear plastic drawers separately. I was lucky that the drawers fit perfectly in the rack. Of course I need a lot of anti slip mats to be placed under the drawers so that it does not move when I pull the drawers out.

First rack on the right, it has two small drawers at the top and one long drawer at the bottom.

First drawer on the left is where I store all my face stuff; face powders, liquid highlighters, setting powder, powder foundation, bronzer and two kabuki brushes

In the second drawer on the right is where I place all my concealers and color correctors

In the drawer below, I have 4 little containers as you can see in the picture above. Now I got these little containers from Economy Mart; 3 for $1? I have my lipliners, eyelash curlers, mascaras and…

On the other two, I place my sharpeners, eye primers, paintpots, gel liners and liquid liners.

In the second rack I have..

In the top drawer, I have all my blushes. I also have two long containers where I store a my MAC, Nyx, Anna Sui and Benefit’s Box O’ Powders. Now that little container on the right I also got that from the Economy Mart, same price as Ive mentioned above. There I store all my random blushes. And in the little space I have Ive stored some of my high end blushes. Ive placed an anti slip mat underneath just so my things wont move around.

Here I have all my small palettes and in the small container on the right, I have all my fake lashes with lash adhesive.

The last rack on my right..

Now this, I wont show you each and every drawer just cause its not that interesting. But i’ll tell you what I have in each and every one of them.

1st drawer: All my cotton pads & hair bands to put my hair back doing my make up.

2nd drawer: Long container where I store all my eyeshadow singles and duos.

3rd drawer: All my plastic jars and sprays incase I need them for whatever reason.

4th drawer: All my Vaporubs and other medical creams.

Next rack on my left,

This rack is where I place all my earring. I have a post on how I store my earrings recently so check that out!

In the second rack I have all my perfumes..

And the last rack below, I store all my nail stuff.

An overview of all the nailpolishes that I have.

So that is all for my part 1 and stay tuned if you wanna see part 2!!

MAC PAINTPOTS

Standard

Hello all!

Today i’ll be talking about the infamous MAC paintpots. I just received these products about two days ago and i have tried them out. Ive heard so much about MAC’s paintpots. Gurus in youtube have been raving about these. They say these paintpots can be a good base for eyeshadow and also, they can just be worn by itself to give a pop of color to your eyes.

What MAC claims:

“A HIGHLY PIGMENTED EYE COLOUR THAT GOES ON CREAMY BUT DRIES TO AN INTENSE, VIBRANT FINISH. LONG-WEARING, COLOURFAST. CREATES SEAMLESS COVERAGE WITHOUT WEIGHT OR CAKING. BLENDS SMOOTHLY OVER THE LIDS. CREAM BASED, CAN BE MIXED WITH MAC SHADOWS AND LINERS.”

Currently, I only own three paintpots – PAINTERLY, RUBENESQUE & INDIANWOOD

PAINTERLY PAINTPOT

MAC describes Painterly as a “nude beige”. It is a “cream” finish. Now I like to use this as a base. This evens out any discoloration or veining on my lids.

A swatch of PAINTERLY PAINTPOT

RUBENESQUE PAINTPOT

Mac describes Rubenesque as “golden peach with gold pearl” and it’s a “frost” finish. I also use this as a base because it does not come out opaque.

A swatch of RUBENESQUE PAINTPOT

INDIANWOOD PAINTPOT

Mac describes INDIANWOOD as a”metallic antique bronze”. And it is a “frost” finish too. This color can be used as a base or by itself. It shows up nicely on my lids and can be a perfect color for a brown/bronzey smokey look.

A swatch of INDIANWOOD PAINTPOT

Overall, I like them. A girl should have one of these in their collection. It lasts long on the lids and as a base, it does make any eyeshadow look more vibrant. I recommend this product. I’m already planning to get some more for myself.

I hope this was helpful. I’ll talk to you all very soon. Thank you!
